Hypnotherapy Questions. Nottingham, Newark and West Bridgford
What is hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is the skilled application of words `elegant forms of langauge` used when a client is in a focus of attention that is directed inwards. You are neither asleep nor awake, it`s a lot like daydreaming, with a pleasant feeling of deep relaxation but focused and therefore in a receptive state to receive verbal communication to bring about intended alterations in sensations, perceptions, feelings, thoughts and behaviour. You and Dr. Michael G Millett will decide together on the changes or goals that are desired, and Michael will ensure that the best methods are applied to suit you as an individual and your particular issues.
Most of Michael`s work using hypnotherapy is applied to anxiety and stress conditions, weight control, addictive behaviours (including smoking, alcohol and substance misuse) and confidence and self esteem issues. Michael sees many clients too for help to enhance performance in several areas such as sport and public speaking as well as spiritual and transpersonal applications of hypnotherapy which he is specifically trained in too.
Michael was in successful private practice in London from 1995 until 2011/12 when he relocated from London to the centre of town in Grantham. He was included in the London Paper`s exhaustively researched list as a hypnotherapist, and an alternative health expert and one of

He worked for a time in Harley Street and at the Replingham Clinic in SW18.

How many sessions will it take?
Sessions usually take one hour or an hour and a half. The number of sessions will depend on the issue or problem involved but generally Michael`s clients notice a postitive shift even after the first session and this is usually progressive.
How does Michael work?
He uses an interactive approach, combining hypnosis and counselling and solution-focused psychotherapy. He also uses NLP, EFT and spiritual work where appropriate. Hypnosis is a different state of consciousness which you can naturally enter so that, for therapeutic purposes, beneficial corrections may be given directly to your unconscious mind.
Does Michael have any specialities?
He holds a Ph.D in Life Coaching and a Masters Degree in Metaphysics and has a particular interest in helping people achieve clarity and confidence to work through issues that are holding them back from enjoying a challenging and harmonious life.
